Default Passed my CFI Initial today!!! (MEI)

Well everyone, im sure you have been aware of my progress, ive been threading on my Instrument ride, both my Commercials (CMEL,CSEL) and now I am posting a thread to let everyone know that I am officially a CFI now, or I guess MEI is what I should say, flight instructor multi-engine. Today was my check-ride down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Glad that the day has finally come and I finally passed the Initial CFI! If anyone would like to know how it went I will go ahead and post it, if anyone has any future MEI's initials.

Oral - 3.0 hours
Started off with some FOI questions, more focused on the Laws of Learning. Didn't really touch into to much of the other items really, that part might of lasted 5 minutes. Then we talked about the FAR's, this is the part I was really excited about because I read that FAR's over and over and could tell hour requirements and endorsement requirements like its nothing now. Then we talked a little bit out what determines critical engine and what is Vmc, How is Vmc affected with density altitude, why is it effected, when do you recover, those sort of things. Then we talked about aerodynamics, how lift works, Bernoulli's law, and other aerodynamic questions. Then we took a short 5 minute break, then we went to the lesson plans, no problem there because I love talking in front of people and having a good time with it, so my lesson plan was on short field take-off, (didnt really think I would get that I was hoping for Vmc) so once I gave the lesson plan we started talking about pressurization systems. surprised I was ask that in an oral but because I love learning about new things I read that up on my own. Then he wrote a sample weight and balance problem on the board, I figured out all the CG's and if we were within limits and how much fuel could we use! Then we take another 5 minute break, when we got back we went over the Sectional chart, went over everything on that chart. OK FINALLY GOT THE ORAL OUT OF THE WAY. time to go and fly!

Flying - 1.5 hours
Took off out of FLL performing a short field, went out and performed a ground reference maneuver, Turns around a point. Then went up to about 3500ft and performed steep turns, followed by slow flight, power off stall, power on stall, then went to 4500 performed a Vmc demo, and a simulated "engine fire" after that he had me find where I was using the seciontal charts and pilotage, then an emergency descent down to 2000 ft, then to a local airport for some take offs and landings. First landing was a short field landing, then took off and simulated engine failure for a single engine landing, then we took off and wanted to head back to the airport. Now keep in mind huge thunderstorms in the area, we tried getting a Special VFR to get into the class C airspace to land but they wouldn't give that to us because they had so many airlines in holding patterns over the airport. We did another landing at another local airport. Waited it out for the storm to pass and finally saw it clearing up. We took off and landed in FLL. as we park the plane walking to the FBO I am waiting to hear the words ok you passed but enver heard them until he saw this nice honda car and he was trying to joke around I guess and he was like "Wow look at that car thats a nice looking car there, oh yea and you passed, but look at that car"...I was relieved that I passed, I was so happy that I am now a flight instructor, only to more check-rides to go, my II and my single engine CFI and I will start working!

Sorry if it was too long but maybe it will give an idea for someone out there who is going to be taking that ride soon!! Hope it helps and thanks to everyone to help me out when I had questions!

How much time was spent on logbook entries / endorsements? It's a required area for an initial CFI, but didn't see that you mentioned it.

I have a fairly indepth lesson plan covering it so I'm not TOO concerned, but just wondering how much time you spent on it during the oral.

Surreal...you'll be surprised what the FAA guys do/don't cover in the oral. I can name 4-5 parts of the oral that were supposed to be talked about that weren't discussed. You'll obviously be prepared, but the FAA guys mostly do their own thing. Mine added some stuff that wasn't required and left out things that were. We did not discuss endorsements in my oral portion.

My examiner didnt ask anything about endorsements even though it should be a common thing and they SHOULD ask about it, but for some reason my examiner didnt.
