| Senior Member | ...my MEI initial that is. Sadly enough, I busted the oral today. I'm not to depressed about it though. There was only one issue the DPE had an issue with, my Vmc lesson plan. I was under the impression that a "ground lesson" and a "pre-flight maneuver briefing" were to different things. Not so if you're teaching Vmc, apparently. I thought he wanted a ground lesson on the effects and causes of Vmc, ie. PAST and SMACFUM, etc, as well as the things that change Vmc. Well, he also wanted a briefing on the Vmc maneuver also(which I did have as a separate lesson), which I didn't include in the ground lesson. As I think about it now, it does make sense. I know that now ![]() He reasured me that the oral portion of the retest will be quick, then we'll hop in the plane, and finish the ride. Live and Learn

![]() I'm sure you'll do fine! ...and by the way... your realization of what occured is exactly the type of response you'd give in an interview when someone asks why you failed your MEI. It shows that you fully understood the reasoning behind the failure... and that you learned something from it vs. blaming it on the DE. Soooo... kudo's for that! Bob
