Default This is how my CFI initial was conducted

Here is a quick list of what was covered in my oral and checkride. Each bullet is a separate task within the area of operation.

IV Lesson to be Taught on Ground and in the Aircraft:
  • Pylon Eight's
V Preflight Procedures
  • PREFLIGHT INSPECTION
  • SINGLE-PILOT RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
  • TAXIING—LANDPLANE
  • BEFORE TAKEOFF CHECK

XIV Post Flight Procedures
  • POSTFLIGHT PROCEDURES
  • RAMPING
As you see he covered quite a bit more then what was required. The oral started at 8:30 and went until 12:30 and the flight was from 1 to 2:30. The reason why he was being so comprehensive and over the PTS was because I was his third checkride for the CFI initial. I had no problem with doing more than what was required to make sure we covered all of the bases and were doing a complete and thorough checkride.

I would suggest that you go into that oral like you own it and you show confidence in what you are teaching. It will help how you feel right away.

Cessna--congrats on passing! Thanks for the thorough post of what your day was like! It's always nice to get an idea of what it's going to be like when I go for mine!
Thanks again,
GTLyon

Was your checkride from Rickey? If so this is not out of the norm. I've seen him give three-hour orals for private checkrides. He's a very in-depth person.

Yeah it was with Ricky, I've heard that his other rides have been quite thorough.
