Default Instrument Pilot

Just finished my instrument checkride! The oral didn't last too long, and it was pretty standard. The examiner just gave me a few scenarios and asked what I would do (radio failure enroute, weather, yada yada yada). Then we went through the low-alt chart and the approach chart...both pretty straight forward.

The flying portion was smooth. My instructor worked me MUCH harder during my training than the DE did for the ride. I was vectored around for an ILS to DH (touch and go), tracked a VOR southbound for a VOR approach w/procedure turn to MAP (missed), back to a GPS hold (parallel entry) into a partial panel approach full stop.

It wasn't easy, but my instructor did a good job and I definitely felt prepared.

Anyone taking the ride, my advice is to relax and prioritize. DON'T RUSH! Oh, and Microsoft Flight Simulator '04 is the best $80 I've ever spent.

Pizza and beer tonight!
