I havePrivate and Instrument. I just passed instrument a month ago. I am planning going south and training fulltime for a month and a half. December 18th-January 30th. I plan on getting my Commerical, CFI, CFII and MEI. Do you think that is doable? Adviseable? Thanks. |

Where are you doing the training? Some places like ATP could do that easily, however you'd need to have your Comm initial to go to ATP for all that. Believe me, I looked into it. If you train everyday and study up, I think it's totally possible.

Im either doing it at Skymates or Ariben. I have the commercial and CFII written done. And, frankly, am ready to kick ass. I just want to make sure im not doomed from the start. Id rather do it at Ariben just because of the location...its near the coast and ive never been to the ocean before...would be cool to spend a month or so there. Then again, I wont have time to enjoy it anyway, and it would probably be better off somewhere where there is nothign to do but study. At this point, im leaning towards Skymates. They seem to be able to do it for cheaper and also have lodging availible (ariben is booked up). |

Not that its any of my business but most of ATP's locations are near the coast as well. The JAX location is 15 minutes from shoreline. Just some food for thought.

[/ QUOTE ] That may be true, but they are expensive...I mean, im sure ATPs program is top notch, but it just doesnt fit my needs. I have decided on Skymates and have already told them so. Im sure it will be an awesome experience (and a hard one too). I can't wait. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, but you need your Comm initial to do any add-ons at ATP, otherwise it's $35K for extra X/C time. I REALLY REALLY wanted to go to ATP for my CFI ratings, but I don't want to take out two or three loans. I'd have to take out one to get my Comm stuff done, and then another for the CFI ratings at ATP. If I were just starting out and only had my PPL, I'd be all over ATP's program. But, sitting where I am (PPL, Inst and 220 TT 30 ME), it's about $20K too expensive for me to do the career track. |

i'm think i'm gonna go that route at ATP, finish my Comm with my instuctor and then just dump the 8 or 9 g's and get my multi, and CFI tickets in one 3 week setup.

Gonna do the same thing you are sometime in May. Should take me 5-6 weeks at Skymates and I'll have through my MEI done.

Well, I had the CFI-I scheduled but had to come back early due to $ reasons. Went down with Private-Instrument 3 checkrides later, came back with Commercial Multi-Single/Instrument, and most of the ground work done for CFI-I not to bad I guess |
