[ QUOTE ] I heard a lot of pilots were substitute teachers on the side.. any particular major/minor we should have? Thanks [/ QUOTE ] Yes, there is a CAL pilot that is a sub at my school. I haven't had him yet, but when I do, I will talk about aviation all day. On a side note, the computer tech. guy is a PPL and the librarian gets mad at me when I go to talk to him during study hall. |

I just completed substitute teacher training, and it was really easy. You can basically work whenever you want, but you have to put in at least one day a month. In some states (provided you have a college degree), you can also register for a teaching certificate, take the test, go through a few classes and earn your certification to teach public school full time. It's a nice insurance policy if you are furloughed, since there are never enough teachers. You can be a teacher or a sub regardless of your degree, but if you have a math/science related degree, you'll be in high demand. |

[/ QUOTE ] Only if I can have a sweet moustache like this: ![]() ...and let's not forget the top 3 shirt buttons unbuttoned, allowing the forest of chest hair to be rustled freely by the ocean breeze.... OH, I almost forgot!! Can I also wear some shorts like those being modeled by the caucasian subject in the picture below? |

Something with the construction field is always a possibility. I've worked in the field as a glorified laborer for the past 9 months (the only one on the job site with a college degree mind you). I was lucky because I had a family friend that employed me. The hourly wage is usually around 9 or 10 dollars an hour. One time I got payed 20 bucks an hour to work for these guys from out of town that were doing an indoor putting green for this super rich guy. My boss also owns a bunch of rental properties in a "proliteriate" part of town. He made some decent money but they were kind of a hastle to deal with.
