Default Goodbye wings, hello scripts!

Well, not that I've been really IN with a flying job, but it turns out I've stepped into what appears to be some good luck and fortune.

Recently, I somehow got extremely lucky and landed a gig with a production company out of LA that was partnering up with one in TUS. I just finished filming a feature here in Tucson, that "supposed" to go national. Then, just yesterday, I got wind of another feature being shot in SDL in a month-ish, so I cold called the company about auditions/production needs. It seems the guy I talked to was really impressed that I had continuity experience, and wanted to meet me immediately. Couldn't, but I have a meeting with him later.

I searched for his name, and it turns out that he is the co-founder of a PHX film studio, and a nationally known photographer who's worked along side Ron Perlman (Hellboy.)

I'm taking the opportunity to toot my own horn a little bit, because this is phenominal luck, paired with some REALLY hard work and research over the past month or so. So, it looks like I may be catching a pretty huge break pretty soon. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I must mention, though, that with everyones guidance on this site, and a special thanks to Dough and Kristie, you all have helped me pursue my dreams in a smart manner, and maybe even opened a few other doors. On the film I just completed, I met a cameraman/director who made a movie with my old Chief Pilot.

Small world, this flying business!!!

THANK YOU ALL!!!!

Hopefully I'll be script continuity supervisor. I told him that's what I did for this last film, and said that that's one of the positions they were needing, so...

I'm excited!!!

Funny, I went to school for film production and now I can't get out of it fast enough to fly. I love production, but not as a career, a hobby more like it. But I do miss it some. Good Luck
