Default AOPA Flight training finance

Hey everyone,

Has anyone ever used the AOPA credit line(up to $25,000) to finance their flight training? If so, how are the interest rates and any good or bad experiences with them? Thanks for the comments.

I believe all of the "finance" stuff at aopa is through bank of America. i WILL NEVER EVER do business with them...again! Long story, but their customer service is terrible, and if something happens to you (like ID theft) They will hang you out to dry and ruin your credit! caveat emptor

To be fair, my bad experience was with a credit card. Not a loan!

AOPA is BoA...and yes, I would avoid them like the plague. I had issues with them in the mortgage world. 30% down, excellent credit, 15 years employment in the AF and I was denied...they couldn't verify my employment. WTF, over?!? I am in the process of suing them right now...could be a nice chunk of change for flying!!!

I use them--pretty fee heavy so if you can't afford to pay it off immediately I would avoid it--this is not a long term finance solution. I can see people getting killed with it--

I charge to it and pay it off in a month or two to avoid fees and high interest.
