Default Anyone want to trade?

I'll trade you a Beech 1900 FO position at Colgan for a Mon-Fri home everynight makin $45k+ job.
+ Must be able to relocate on $19k income
+ Work 12+ hour days with only 4hrs worth of pay
+ Must be willing to work 5 and 6 day trips with only 2 days off in between while the company forgets to book you a hotel every night.
+ Must be able to obtain credit cards with limits above $5k to cover essential items like gas, food and crashpad expenses.
+ Must be flexible enough to have your plans ruined when Junior manned 4 times in a single month.
+ Must also be willing to pack up shop and move to another base on moments notice.
+ Must be willing to accept the fact that your seniority number means nothing to the company, its cheaper to hire people off the street rather then award bids.

Nope, 6 figures. Need Engineering Degree. You do get a Company Car. But since I like you, I will reduce the salary to $45k. Guess I will charge you for insurance too, your use to that!

You work Mon-Fri weird hours, but in your bed most evening, home on weekends almost every weekend. Responsible for your own lodging if you stay out of town, mostly you return everynight

Doesn't Home Depot pay about $40K to start?

Yeah, I think they do.

Also a new 2d Lieutenant in the Armed Forces makes about 40k, plus housing and a food stipend. And, if you have college loans, they may pay those back for ya. Sounds better than Colgan already, right?

There are a few caveats with the job, though...

Like using silly-ass words like "2d" instead of "2nd"?

Airdale, I truly hope it improves for you. Maybe the take over by Pinnacle (?) may improve things?

Starting pay is around $8-$9/hr, those with experience (plumber, electrician background, etc.) made about $11-12/hr to start.

Or if you have a 4 year degree and military experience you can go into their management training program making much more (at least a couple of years ago it was a program, not sure if it's still going on). Had a couple of enlisted buddies do it.

Seeing as though Airdale doesn't have a 4-year, this isn't an option for him.

I meet Colgan refugees at other airlines all the time these days.

A non-union airline.. considering how airline management is.. is a bad thing.

Run, don't walk, from Colgan.
