I have a comfortable job now and two kids. I'm really interested in making flying a career but not at the expense of being away at night. I've seen a lot of information on this board regarding part 121 scheduling but not so much on part 135. Are these typically out and back routes every day? I'm sure this is probably an unrealistic expectation. If so, I'll just keep flying Pipers and Cessnas on the weekends and a desk during the week. It's still a lot of fun living vicariously through some of you. Thanks.

At some 135 jobs, you are "home" every night because the pilot's base is where the airplane is based at an outstation. Some airlines do that, too. Ask around. AirNet has 23 prop bases and 20 or so Lear bases.

Allegiant. Move to Vegas. All they fly is turns.

Flying charter doesn't guarantee you are home every night. Just that you are usually home. But something will come up every once in a while that will result in an overnight.

Thanks for the info. I found some good threads on Airnet and I should have checked the Freight Dawgs board first (just discovered it). Stupid question but are there any daytime part 135 operators?

I fly freight and all I do are day routes. They're out there, you just have to find them! Though I do wish I was flying night...

Thanks. I'm finding a lot of stuff over on the OOTSK board regarding schedules.
