Looking for recommendations on study material to get back up to speed - After being out of civil aviation for 18 years and about 8 yrs out of the cockpit on military side (EA6B ECMO by trade) I am looking at getting back into the flying game and actually using my FAA ratings here when I retire in 5-7 months. Are there any good general review programs from Sporty's, King or others that are recommended to help brush up on the knowledge base (will be going back and getting CFI ratings) besides sleeping with the fARs and AIM manuals? thank you for your time... |

This one is pretty good for brushing up on basic knowledge.. http://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl....7296&CATID=117 This one for the IPC... http://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl....ID=9521&DID=19 There are also these options for a full course.. For PPL http://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl....4977&CATID=117 For IR http://www.sportys.com/acb/showdetl....5322&CATID=117 My opinion is a bit biased as I work in the Sporty's video dept, but they've been very helpful in getting my knowledge back where it needs to be after having been out of flying for a couple of years. |

You can get all the training materials you need from the FAA for free from their web site. Their books are available in PDF and the electronic CFR are available on the net. No need to spend a dime to refresh.
