| Hello all, I have decided to go all in and pursue my dream of becoming an airline pilot. I am 36 and used to be an executive in the corporate environment pulling in a six figure salary, but just told my boss last Friday to "take this job and shove it!" Boy did that feel good. I was even on such a power trip that I told my girlfriend to **** off (she was freeloading off of me anyway). I was never happy at my job, so I decided to quit and withdraw all of my retirement savings so I could move to Florida and go to flight school debt free. I plan on selling my house and Jaguar soon. I just sold my BMW last week (but still have the Harley!) and also had a garage sale this last weekend to get rid of anything and everything that isnt irreplaceable. At the garage sale somebody even made a comment about my dog Brutus, so I sold him too. I didnt mind selling Brutus too much, because he always used to piss on my couch (which I sold also!). I plan on moving to Daytona Beach in about a month to start flight training and will be traveling on my Harley with nothing but the bare necessities. After I sell my house and other car and with the money from the garage sale, I will be able to pay for all of flight school and even budgeted $100 a week for food. Hopefully I will be at an airline in less than a year. Its a big change, but I cannot wait. It will be so nice in between flights to sip on a corona on the beach and smoke a cigar while watching the ladies in bikinis!! |

| Old Skool | Good for you. Make sure you go to the Welfare Office on your first day off and sign up for the food stamps you'll need for your first two aviation jobs.

| Sounds a little like me, but more extreme. If you are for real, good luck to you. But I do know one thing. A professional would never tell their previous employer to shove their job. If anything, you would offer solutions to you leaving since you just costed them a lot of money if you were truly good at your job. Keeping good references and treating people with respect is priority one, you'll learn this quick in aviation since you don't want to performance like that in aviation and expect to work for a good company in the future. Plus, be nice to your dog and girlfriend. Someday that girlfriend may be the HR Rep where you are applying at. And have a heart man, you just sold your dog without giving it any thought at all. And on top of all that, I question your judgement. You sold/ are selling all vehicles with a roof over them and going to ride your Harley as your only transport. So not only will you own nothing beyond your hog since it does not carry much, you will also earn quite an unusual nickname when every day you look like a wet puppy driving around in the rain. Oh, but you'll live on campus maybe if you go to a FL school. But what about when you need to drive for an errand? Or better yet, how about going to an interview in the rain. Don't worry, HR will understand the judgement you used as they send you back out in the rain... Ha, the more I think about this post, the more I realize this certainly can not be a real person with a rational thought process... at least I hope not for all our safety since flying requires a good sense of judgement... |

| ![]() I especially like the part about being at the airlines in less than a year! LMAO! Now that is funny I don't care who you are! If this person is for real, I hope their attitude changes before receiving the Commercial certificate and long before they begin carrying pax. |
