Default 7th Flight Today

Well, today it snowed last night, looked like bad weather this morning, but it cleared up very quickly and I was able to go up. The wind was out of the North at about 18 knots, gusting about 30 on the ground (about 25 knots and gusting 35 knots aloft), so it made for a heck of a workout! I did about 6-7 landings and they weren't the best, but I am getting better I suppose. I just still have trouble when I am about 10 - 20 ft off the runway. I need to practice on making sure I am aligned and also need practice on my level off and flair timing. It looks so easy on TV! Ha!

After that, we went out to one of the practice areas, and I practiced some ground reference maneuvers. Great day for it because it was extremely windy. My S-turns were pretty good, but my turns about a point were a little off.

I am mentally and physically exhausted now ; wind makes for quite a workout when flying, but instructor always says it's days like today that make you a good pilot!

Well, we'll see how I feel after tomorrow's flight.

I fly again on Saturday and am excited and nervous about it. I just need to try and relaaaaax. Anywho, just wanted to share!
Ah, i remember my first flight.. the sweaty palms, churning stomach, beads of sweat on the face, rolling down and getting in your eyes, the abject look of pure fear as i attempted my first landing.... And that was just my instuctor !!!!
