Default inspiration and motivation

yea, I know it's only a movie, but go see " Pursuit of Hapiness" . THis man's struggles were extreme, but it proves no matter the obstacles.....when you are determined and focused you can make it happen. There will be sacrafices and discouragement, but those student loans will go away eventually....sorry ...couldn't get to sappy. It's good flick...go see it. Happy new year everyone.

BTW...those BART restrooms could be a nice crash pad...better than some I bet !

I went to see the movie and it bought tears to my eyes.

I guess in some way I'm kind of facing a similiar situation. I have always wanted to become an airline pilot, however, I have a bad check & disturbing the peace conviction. Both misdemeanors. I also have 3 charges, a) resisting w/o violence b) battery and c) burgulary that were all dismissed/dropped against me. Yet I understand that even though I was exonerated by the courts, I will always be "convicted" when filling out applications for employment, especially when it comes to professional positions such flying Part 121. The bad check conviction...yeah that was my fault. Mis-management of personal funds. The latter three should not count against me.

At any rate, I am determined to become a pilot. I still plan on getting my PPL and head towards ATP. Whether or not they hire me as a CFI to build my time is another matter, however, I have always had the desire to become an airline pilot. One not only has to have integrity, accountability, and be responsible, but have a passion for the work and the vocation. Sacrafices and discouragements...yeah I've been through some and will undoubtely go through some more.

What I took from the movie is that when the deck seems to be stacked against you, one must perservere in order to attain one's goal. "Perserverance must complete its work."

My goal is to become an airline pilot.

perserverance...you hit that one the head !

I suppose my favorite line from the movie was " Son, don't ever let someone tell you ...you can't do something..not even me "

Trying to get a CFI slot at ATP, and then airing out ur laundry on this site probably isnt the best idea. ATP people read this site. and they know every single one of their instructors and students on here. Its probably not helping ur cause.

But good luck with everything. My suggestion is make connections. Having your resume walked in by the right person could go a long way.
