That term rightly brings up indignation in people, especially those that have seen its affects (effects?) first hand, but it is important not to automatically condemn without understanding the circumstances and actual details. As your story shows (assuming we give you the benefit of the doubt that the incident is as you described ), things may not always be self-evident.
