Just wondering if anyone knows of any good side jobs for pilots? I am looking for something that I could possibly do from the road via laptop...I.e. Data entry, etc...

I think phone sex operator can be done from a laptop......

Might make more $$$, too.

my parents found this 'relive' health drink stuff (like drinking sand) they like and it's turned into a side business.. they're not allowed to make a web site though and sell the stuff (duh I could help them with that)

maybe you could find something like that where you could buy and sell over a web page (course you need time to be at home shipping stuff)

that probably didn't help - BUT you've helped me in the past so at least I gave it a shot

Anything but Amway. Good gravy, back in 1997 when I was a regional pilot, I kept on running into people selling Amway and it was driving me nuts!

But in all seriousness, I'm not sure the whole website thing became a business, but I certainly wouldn't suggest getting into the business of producing and hosting websites.

There's a zillion ways of running an absentee-style business for people that travel a lot, but you've got to be very creative.

Have you considered trying to find other business-minded pilots and maybe investing in a franchise? If you had the money to do flight training, and so did they, if you could find someone to finance $50K to get a $11/hr job, you certainly could scrape up some startup capital to invest in a franchise.

The first two things that surface for me are medical transcription and data entry for small companies.

Real Estate... get your Realtor's license. It's a good way to make some extra money on the side and help your friends/family buy and/or sell homes.
