Hey guys, not sure if this is the right place to post this but it's worth a try. My grandfather has a PA-34-200T (Seneca 2) at KDVT in which we just had both engines overhauled, replaced most cables, and is basically brand new. It's still got the old radios and no gps but it flies like a champ! My current instructor keeps flaking out on me and I would like to get my training/certification for multi engine done by Dec. 1. I currently hold my PPL only (no instrument) so it should be quick and easy. I am hurting on cash as well so I am looking for a good hourly rate. I need an MEI ASAP! preferably with PA-34 experience to make the training that much smoother. Again, I'd like to get it done ASAP! let me know if you're interested. Kasdan

Do you have an examiner local to your area in mind to use? -mini |

No but I just printed up a list of the DPE's in my area. That was my next idea was to call them and get suggestions. Is that what you were thinkin?

Actually, maybe you could get your flaky MEI and the DPE to team up. DPE teaches you most of the stuff, your MEI flies with you when he's not being flaky and he's the one that endorses you for the practical. Might not be the best solution, but it's all I got. I'd love to come down and teach you, but that's a lo-o-o-o-o-ong way to go for a quick Pvt-MEL. Are you wanting to add instrument privileges with this as well or just VFR only? -mini | |

It'll be just VFR only. Quick and easy right? Apparently I'm a thorn in my instructors side. I just wish I knew of someone else out here who's an MEI. Oh well, I'll keep trying.

there are plenty of MEIs out there, most will freelance, there's a good outfit at Buckeye, and there maybe some good ones at Glendale. Maybe work out a custom schedule with them and they can do an intensive program with you. Alex. |

I'm in. Just need to find a way to have your insurance cover me providing instuction. We could do a cross country somewhere to get five hours in make model and then the learning can begin. I fly out of DVT daily

If I were out there I'd do it in a heart beat, I have a couple hundred hours in Seneca/Seneca T's. Be careful training in a turbo, the simulated failures are going to be tough on those turbos, also, don't try and get too cheap on your instructor, multi training isn't the safest thing to do, especially for someone who is going pvt - multi in a turbo airplane. The Seneca tends to be a lot if you have little or no time in complex airplanes.

Thanks for the info. I'm now waiting on the plane to get a new W&B and new altimeter but will keep the turbos in mind.
