Default Instructing Without Medical

I trust that we all agree that there is no requirement for an CFI to posses a valid medical certificate in order to instruct, even for compensation, if that CFI does not act as PIC.

With that said, when it comes time to RENEW your CFI and fill out the 8710-1, when you answer NO to question Q (do you hold a medical certificate) what effect will that have in the renewal process?

Doubt it would effect it as my uncle who hasnt flown an airplane in 5 years and most def. has not recieved a medical, renews his CFI no problem through the American FLyers deal.
