Default Using sim for Part 61 commercial?

At my school we have a certified on top PTACD. Can this be used to count TT torward a commercial rating? Part 61

I notice in the manual that it says 2.5 hours can be used torward private, and 10 hours toward Instrument. It does not mention commercial from quickly glancing through it.

Doesn't answer the question. A PCATD is not a "flight simulator or flight training device." It is a separate creature and its use limited by AC61-126 and its approvals - which usually comes down to part of what the regs allow for a sim or FTD..

Check out its certification, but chances are that if the manual limits it to private and instrument work, that's probably it.
