Default How many Students do you have?

Just curious.., I have 5. Balancing time for my marraige, lesson preparation and other studies is near impossible. Sleep is over rated!

Ah the life of a CFI!

Right now 9, but that is in a constant state of flux. 3 checkrides coming within the next week so that will be down to 6, but I guess there are a few waiting to start up.

Some days it feels like too much.

To give you an example this coming week I have 15 unique students scheduled for a total of 50 hours

The week after I have 10 unique students total (5 the same as the previous week, 5 completely different) for a total of 35 hours (due to one day off).

So, in two weeks I have 15 different students, 5 regulars, 85 hours booked.

That's pretty average for my part 61 training.

All in all though, I'd say in this past 3 month span I had 42 unique students and billed 340 hours.

Wow.., seems like there are far busier people than me. But I do fly all 5 of my students everyday. So.. that means I'm sceduled for 5 2 hr blocks a day. That usually ends up being 1.5 hrs of flying per student or 7.5 hrs a day. It never really works out that way though for one reason or another. In any case, trying to find time to study is a challenge but I'm gonna have too if I wanna get my career started.

Are you counting ground time here? Unless you're working 7 days next week, how are you dealing with the 8 hours a day?

The 8 hours a day is only a flight limitation, not ground. There are few days where I actually get close to 8 hours a day and it's usually when I have 2 students at the cross country phase of flying at the same time or someone doing their night cross country.

I Can think of maybe 4 days of instruction where I came up to 7.8 - 7.9.

I work 7 days a week, every week. The day off here and there occurs about once a month or if i have special events. It's not fun all the time, but once I strap on the plane that mentality pretty much goes away.

3 full time, but one of those has not be out to the port in a week.
the other two fly 3 or 4 times a week, then I get the part time students to fill in some time .
On average I think I get 1 flight a day.
This is my second month at he flight school so things can build
