Default Instr. Currency for Checkride

Folks- anyone know if as a CFI-A (initial) applicant you need to be instrument current to take the practical test?
I know you need currency to give instruction, but for just taking the test, I'm not sure.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Instr. Currency for Checkride

Instrument currency relates to being legal to fly in the IFR system. On your CFI-A ride you're not going to be flying "in the system"- just demonstrating how you would teach basic BAI to a student under the hood.
