Smile Recommended CFI in LGB area?

Hello All and Happy New Year!

Any recommendations for a 'career CFI' person in the LGB area?

I would like to get current in PPL and Instrument.

Thanks

I'd say Meritflyer but he's in Phoenix.

Long Beach Flying Club has a handful of career CFIs. Have you checked there? I'm currently training with Cody Pierce. Would highly reccomend.

Thanks for the 'LB Flying Club' recommendation. I am not impressed with their maintenance of aircraft there. I wouldnt mind paying more per/hour for better maintained aircraft.

Hopefully there is more input. How about other airports like SNA or FUL?

Thanks again

LGB has a bunch of schools... all with poorly maintained airplanes... I think California Flight Center is the only good one, only because they have a bigger fleet of newer cessnas...

SNA is too expensive and its a crazy airport operate out of

Don't know much about the FUL schools...

I'd be more than happy to fly w/you, but I'm more than busy at the moment

Thanks for the reply and advice. I will check in to CFC. How do you like instructing at IFTA? Are you building time or planning to stay where you are the the moment?

I instructed at Orange County Flight Center for almost a year, out of SNA. That would be a great place for you to start. I don't know if they still have any career CFI's. I know they had two who had full-time jobs and then instructed in the evening, both very experienced. Start there. Good luck!

It's a great job. Very structured and easy going. I'm going to stay there till my contract expires in 2008. By that time I should have about 2500TT... after IFTA, who knows... hopefully a nice corp job.

I also work out of a small FBO in WHP during the weekend and might know a few people down in that LGB/TOA area... I'll let you know.

Hi Surf,

I remember reading from other post that you decided to switch careers into law enforcement. Why did you do the change? It would appear that you were on your way to building time over at OCFC.
