I have my 135 IFR mins, if there is any charter work available... Also, out of season, but does anyone know what times they are looking for to fly the twin otter out of orange full of flying meatballs?... Thanks! Tim |

It's been years but I trained out of 7B2 in Northampton. I'm they still have a training operation (I visit once i a while) but I don't know how big it is )it's always been small Part 61). They are a friendly group and may be able to help you with other possibilities. Good luck.

I grew up in Amherst. I used to go over to NoHo and watch skydivers and planes all the time. As far as instructing out of 7B2... I almost ended up working there a while back. I ended up getting a call to instruct with ATP shortly after I started the 141 process of getting paperwork in order. They were at the time working both 61 and 141 with one of the community colleges. I don't know if they are still doing it or not. I was told that over the winter it was slow and there probably wouldn't be much flying. However, once the nicer weather rolls around they will pick up again I am sure. They had two warriors, a C172 (with a pretty good IFR package) and a C152. I flew both the warriors and they were in nice shape. I would just bug them once a month to let them know you are still interested. The cheif instructor over there was an older lady who's name I can't remember. She was sort of phasing out and somebody else was going to take over. All and all the people there are pretty good. I don't know anything about instructing out of Orange or Turners. Jumptown is located and Orange and they hire DZ pilots from time to time. I don't know mins for the twotter, but they some times put up a 182. Also check Barnes Airport in Westfield. There are two or three flight schools located on the field as well as a a charter operations I think. It is a bit longer of a drive then NoHo but they may be busier over the winter due to their work with Westfield State College. That's all I can think of that is within driving distance of Amherst. If you've got questions about Amherst drop me a PM. I spent 18 years there and still go back to visit my folks a bit. It's a great area. |

I keep my airplane at 7B2! I know that "Five Star Flight Academy" at Barnes Airport in Westfield is looking for some instructors.
