I have a question about the endorsement for an initial CFI applicant's proficiency in spins, outlined in 61.183(i). When it says the training and endorsement must come from an "authorized instructor," does that mean any CFI, or does the CFI need to meet the requirements from 61.195(h)? (mainly, 24 months of having a CFI certificate and have given 200 hours of flight training). A friend of mine working on his initial CFI asked me to do his spin training with him, but I haven't had my CFI ticket for 24 months yet. My friend was thinking that the term "authorized instructor" is used in the same way as it is for other endorsements such as complex or high performance. I was thinking since the training is specifically required for initial CFI applicants, the training must come from an instructor qualified to teach initial CFI applicants. Which is it? |

3RU, Rust Airstrip, about 15 miles south of KATL. It is actually a public strip. My grandfather used to keep his cub there and mow the strip so I used to fly out of there all the time. There is a nice lake at the far end of the strip beyond the trees.
