Default Commercial Multi PTS

Ok, I had a student who was interested in a commercial multi rating. He has a single engine private pilot rating with an instument add-on. He did not need a commercial single rating.

My question is this: If you are doing a multi for your initial commercial certificate, do you have to do ground reference maneuvers or chandels or lazy 8s?

I can't find these mentioned in the PTS but have been told by my school that these were required. Anyone have any specific references as to where these maneuvers are required?

Thanks!

Nope, not required.

Here is a link to the on-line PTS. Pages 71 to 73 list all of the required Areas of Operation for a Commercial Multi-Engine (Initial) practical test.
