Default NORCAL CFI possibilities

Hi, I am a junior at Embry Riddle in Daytona Beach Florida. I will try to earn my CFI and CFII this summer. I am curious to know what the job market is in the Bay Area for flight instructors. The going rate is about $50 per hour for CFIs at KSQL. But most of the instructors seem much older than any of the ones around in Florida (30s). How many hours do CFIs get per month in the Bay Area. PLEASE, ANYONE WITH ANY GOOD ADVICE ABOUT HOW TO GET A FLIGHT INSTRUCTOR POSITION AT A PLACE WHERE I COULD GAIN A LOT OF FLIGHT TIME, GIVE ME Feedback.

C'mon now, legit question here.

And it's only CAPT grads that go straight through......

Doug might be able to answer your question, being from the NORCAL area, though his info might not be current having been out of the biz there for a while.

RHV, PAO, SQL are the busy airports for GA training. I'd say from what I see, that that is the order of use. The SQL area tends to have a lot more money than the RHV end of the bay, so you'd be better off there.

If you are willing to work, you can be busy.

West Valley Flying Club has a ton of planes, but that is also the place you are talking about with all the old guys with lotsa time under the belt.

You may have a hard time trying to find a job in the bay, as most places like to hire those who did ratings with them.

If you want to move over to this side of the hill, we may be hiring soon as things get busy.
