Default Free lanceing

I teach at a 141 Univ where everything is laid out for me. In other words, flight instruction for dummies. I'm now doing a little work on my on teaching an instrument applicant. What should step one be? Is there a certain training course outline or lesson plans I should use? I know I need to communicate with the FSDO, but how much? His aircraft has no ADF, is this okay? Should I report my earnings? The 30hrs of ground training, is there a course that we should use to guide that process?

Jepp makes some a really good syllabus for the IR. There's also quite a few on the net that other people have done, just use our friend Google. Not having an ADF is no problem at all. Does he have a GPS in the plane? If so, there's your other non-precision approach. Yeah, you'll have to report the earnings unless you want to be shady.

Well, you teach at a part 141 school, so why not use their syllabus for instrument students to create an idea of what you need to cover and how...

From there, devise a logical flow (perhaps this is already implemented) and make the tweaks necessary (what do you think you could do better, given that you have no time restraints outside of a 141 school)

Just what I'd suggest, if you're completely clueless... This will at least let you determine what stuff is necessary. Also, just try to remember back to your own instrument training, and what worked and what didn't, what helped, etc. etc.

And I'm about 95% sure that the lack of ADF is okay 3 approaches, one precision must be done... So I suppose VOR, VOR-DME, GPS, VOR/DME/RNAV, LOC, BC and ILS are your choices now... (and ASR, PAR, and the other obscure ones )

No minimum time, just enough to learn EVERYTHING.
