Default Tengo una pregunta

If you can get a knowledge test endorsement from the King Schools or Gleim, why do the FARs specify a logbook endorsement for most exams?

If you take a look at 61.35 and 61.39, they use "logbook" endorsement only when referring to practical tests. When referring to knowledge tests, it just says, "endorsement."

Reading this:

[ QUOTE ]
Applicants for private pilot tests or fundamentals of instructing tests, based on a home study course or a course of instruction, shall have an FAA-certified instructors endorsement acknowledging eligibility for the written test.

[/ QUOTE ]

Taken from here: http://www.faa.gov/fsdo/satfsdo/computer_test.htm

You need the signoff/endorsesment for the FOI and PP-ASEL only.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm still confused because 61.35 doesn't specify logbook but the specific subparts for each rating usually does. For example, 61.123 covers commercial pilot requirements and part (c) specifies a logbook endorsement. This is somewhat of a trivial matter but whadda fook? How about some consistency from the guvament....

Do you mean that you need an endorsement to take the FOI exam? I didn't, and I took it without an instructor or even being near a plane for months. It was 100% Gleim study with no endorsement. I didn't think you needed endorsements for any of the CFI writtens.
