Default CRJ Device Construction

Here are pictures of the ongoing construction of our CRJ device. It is pretty cool to see the progress made in a short time.

Blah blah blah...where are pics of the Super Cub!!!?

Seriously, looks nice. Glad I was able to see your place and that room last week prior to these pics - helps for perspective. How long will it take to install the device? You have a great set-up in Liberty. Very nice space - good learning enviornment.

See here for Super Cub: http://forums.jetcareers.com/career-...super-cub.html

CRJ device construction is 3-4 days. I think they will have most of the large items put together today. The wiring is the tough part.

Thats Awesome Michael. Stupid question - you, as well as others, will be instructing in this. Sims being different, what kind of time do you think you will need to get comfortable yourself prior to teaching? Is it similiar (albeit less time) to checking out in a new airplane?

If and when I fill in at an instructor in the CRJ course, it will be more on the ground side in regards to systems. I have multiple, very experienced, CRJ captains and first officers who will do the majority of sim training. Who better to learn from then pilots from one of the best regionals out there?

How much is one of these sims. I have a nice open space in my living room and I think this would make a perfect addition.

You are going to need a BIG living room!

I wish I could have this one at home as well.

Looks like a CRJ to me. Congrats Michael. What level of FTD will it be?

Well, we have to do an on-site certification, so we are going to go for FTD-3/AATD certification.

The suspense must be killing you. Can you post some YouTube vids when they get it up and running?

Going to ask a question here but it may infringe upon your business model and discretion - if you do not want to answer it, or not answer it directly that is fine by me because it is personal.

In calculating the cost for a rating or a rental price for a plane, you have to allot a certain amount for overhaul and maintenance. Is this true with the sim as well? What can break, is there scheduled maintanence or software upgrades, and how well can you plan for that? How much (answering generally - a little, a medium, or a lot will suffice) will the ongoing costs of the sim be?

There really isn't anything additional to plan for on the sim except for insurance. There is plenty that can break, but for the most part, I believe it is covered by a pretty good warranty. As for software upgrades, we don't see any on the near future. We MIGHT add the CRJ 700/900 option, but that depends how things at the airlines shake down. So really, the only thing we have to worry about is the note on the sim.

Now on a sim that is hydraulic, there is mtx to plan for. This device is just a different animal.

Almost finished! Just dialing things in now and adjusting the outside visuals. The seams you see outside will be gone tomorrow after some adjustment.
