Hello! I'm interested to hear if anyone has OR is attending CPS. It looks similar to ATP flight school (aircraft appears a bit vintage, however). Pricing is close as well. Anyone.....? Thanks! -Don |

I spent three weeks in Jan/Feb there, and will be heading back shortly. I don't have any first hand experience with ATP, but I believe it would be quite different. There are only a few students at CPS, at true 1 to 1 student to instructor ratio, hence no scheduling/dispatch issues (except for weather of course). Its true, any twin commanche you fly will be older than a seminole, but they are in Great shape and well equipped. Overall, I have had a very positive experience there, or I wouldn't be going back!! |

I like the idea of 1:1. Not that NEW equipement is generally better; just an observation. I appreciation your input, and will -most likely- call on for some more ![]() Thanks! -Don |

Don- Thank you for the interest in our programs. To address your questions/ concerns, let me emphasize the following: 1. What really separates CPS from other "academies" is the quality of instruction and its individualized nature. The majority of instruction at CPS is one on one, with a highly qualified instructor. 2. Our fleet is not brand new, but we take mtx VERY seriously. If any of the planes develop a problem, it is addressed immediately. We don't put things off until the next 100 hour, or ever compromise the safety of our students or staff. Unfortunately, weather can limit training at times, but you will almost never be without a plane to fly. 3. With regard to our multi engine program, the Twin Comanche is an excellent trainer, that will better prepare you for "real" multi engine flying. The Twin Comanche has a critical engine, as does just about any propeller driven transport class aircraft (King Air, 1900, 421, Baron, etc). It is also a very difficult plane to land. Students who acquire Twin Comanche proficiency are well prepared to move up into faster, more powerful multi engine aircraft. 4. Our location in the Midwest will give you the experience of flying in varied, challenging weather. You will learn, first hand, how to evaluate weather and make go/ no go decisions. You will become very skilled in crosswind landings. We are very centralized, which allows for cross destinations such as Chicago, Denver, Little Rock, and Dallas. Trevor- Thanks for the kind words and we're looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks!

I also attended CPS in JAN/FEB with Trevor, CPS is a great place, the 1 on 1 student instructor ratio is great! The instructors are very experienced and teach you to proficiency rather than standards. The Twinkie is a great plane it will teach you how to be a real pilot, it will prepare you to move on in your career. The planes are all kept up very nicely and are a joy to fly. I left CPS in early February and will start class for American Eagle next week. please feel free to PM if you have anymore questions...

Armen- Best of luck to you at Eagle! Based on how you flew the Twinkie I'm sure you'll have no problems moving on to bigger and better things.

I've been looking over CPS's website, and thus far am fairly impressed. I do have a quick question however. The price that is quoted for the Accelerated program, is that locked in once you start scholl? Or is that able to fluciate while you are attending?? Thanks |
