Hey everybody! CPS is officially in my top 3 list to attend this summer based on research and JC posts..I have never seen 1 person say anything bad about CPS in these forums, so people must be pleased with the training. The other two schools, ALOT of people talk bad about, but ALOT of people talk good about them. I already have my PPL and I have been watching the sport's instrument course VHS tapes for fun and can honestly say i am pretty overwhelmed and confused by alot of the stuff. Thats why i am worried about going to ATP..their instructors will leave you in the dark while you are at home staying up all night, trying to memorize and figure out stuff on your own...FSA had actual ground school, but I did that for my PPL at college and hated it (even though it was thorough)...I really like what I have read on here about CPS though, how it is kind of a mix between self study and ground school. The instructors here sound awesome too! and will do what they need to help you understand a concept. Doing my PPL, I found that I would just act like I knew something, used head nods, didn't even ask because I was paying my instructor for every minute he was explaining stuff! And I am a good pilot, but not a confident one because of this and found the oral exam was very hard because I didnt understand everything.I love how the price includes unlimited instruction on ground and in air..I will be a better pilot, and not just one with ratings, if I go to CPS. Also, CPS seems to have great customer service with quick responses, truthful answers, and opinions..some other schools don't even get back to you for a week!! Sorry me going on this tangent and on to the questions! I want to come visit the school to make sure before my final decision, is there any kind of transportation that can be arranged from Kansas City and back again? I want to go the accelerated career course, do you have an up-to-date price? (if you dont want to put on here, you can PM me) How are payments made? Monthly? at the start of each rating?? Do you suggest having any writtens out of the way before I start? Can you flip flop the instrument and multi ratings, so that you can do your instrument rating in a multi? (i noticed your site syas that you don't recommend this, why?) About how many career students are enrolled right now? Is there ever any issue of aircraft availability. During your time-building phase in the career program, is this the same as the multi xcountry adventure? How much free time do your accelerated students have? Now that you are part 61 and 141 certified, does that mean you can provide real ground school? Why do I want the ground instructor certificates? I dont picture myself teaching classrooms of people?? I notice some of your other programs, they are dry rates...we dont have to pay for fuel in the career program, do we? Thats all of the questions for now, any answers would be appreciated!! I look forward to talking to you guys and hopefully attending CPS -Justin |

1) We can pick you up in KC and take you to our school for a tour. Just gives us at least 2 weeks notice! 2) The most up to date prices are on our web site: www.careerpilotschool.com 3) If you finance the program through Sallie Mae, payments are disbursed over the time you spend at CPS. If you are paying without financing, we can talk about different options. 4) If you have the Instrument and Commercial Written Exams taken before you arrive, great. If not, no worries! 5) It is our experience that doing the instrument rating along with your initial multi training adds stress to you as the student. It also lengthens the time to fully comprehend both the instrument and multi. Our recommendation is to be instrument proficient first, then multi engine proficient. 6) We have anywhere from 2-4 new Career Pilot Program students enrolled each month. Some are accelerated and some self paced. We never enroll more than four new students. 7) There is usually never any aircraft scheduling problems due to the limits we place on enrollments. Occasionally weather and mtx problems combine and delay some training, but you will never be sitting around waiting to work. We always find something to work on. Whether it is ground, sim, or taking a different aircraft. 8) Our time building is similar to the cross country adventure, though we typically expect the aircraft to be back at the base each evening. If you want to take the aircraft with your instructor and be away from our base of operations, the student is responsible for his/her housing away from Kansas City. Your housing in KC is included in the price. 9) I like to make sure that students have 2 free days per week to relax and do something unrelated to aviation. Flying 30, 60, or 90 straight days is not conducive to a good learning environment. 10) We provide "real" one-on-one ground school whether we are teaching under 141 or 61. 11) If you decide to be a CFI for a time, the only way you can apply to be a Gold Seal Instructor is to have an AGI or IGI. 12) All fuel is included in the price of the Career Pilot Program. There is NO fuel surcharge. We are looking forward to visiting with you. Michael
