Well folks, we are pretty much booked up through February (with the exception of room for one 10 day instrument student at the end of Feb). We are now scheduling March and April starting dates. PM Michael or I to discuss enrollment.

Patrick, I am 19 and interested in becomming a professional pilot. I want my Private through Multi engine instructor. I am a little unsure of what is involved in the process. I have been viewing the posts here for a while now and was wondering if you could tell me, and others like me new to aviation, a little about your school, and the path that you took to become a professional pilot? What order did you get your ratings, how did you build time, etc. How many instuctors do you supervise? Can I get you as my multi engine instructor, no offense to anyone else but after reading your posts on jet u I get the feeling you have been in aviation for a long time. Jon |

Jon- Thanks for the kind words, however I do not quite consider myself a "professional pilot" as of yet My background: I am (was?) a business guy who just got tired of working in the business world- I always had a love for aviation so I decided to take up my passion as a career and I am very glad that I did. We all start at the same place it sounds like you are at now. I spent a lot of time "doing my homework" with regard to where I decided to do my flight training, which led me to Career Pilot School, where I am now the Director of Marketing. As to how you get where you want to go, there are many options, but the common two paths are as follows: Private-->Instrument-->Commercial Single-->Commercial Multi Add-on Private-->Instrument-->Multi Add-on-->Commercial Multi (with option for Commercial Single There are some folks who advocate doing your Multi Add-on before your Instrument, and then doing your Instrument in a twin, but we do not advise this at CPS. We do, however, advocate doing your Multi Add-on to your Private before your Commercial, as this way all the hours you spend building time toward your Commercial can be PIC Multi, after you have the Add-on to your Private. Somewhere after your Commercial, you can begin training for your flight instructor ratings. While enrolled in the Career Pilot Program, you will log 340 total hours- of which 100 are Multi Engine Airplane, and 50 are Multi Engine AATD (simulator), the remaining 190 of which are Single Engine hours. Please check out our website, if you haven't already, at: www.careerpilotschool.com If there is anything else I can do for you, feel free to PM me or just call the school and I'd be more than happy to talk to you.

Patrick, Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the information. I assumed you were a professional pilot since in several posts you said an instructor has to be on board for multi engine insurance and you said you had just gotten back with a "time builder". I guess I got confused between professional pilot and instructor. I am currently in Missouri visiting family in the Liberty area I may call and set up a time for my parents and I to visit your school this week. Jon |

Jon- No problem on the info, perhaps I should have worded that as "company representative" on board. I am working toward my CFII and MEI, but for the time being, when I go out with a time builder, I am along for the ride for insurance reasons If you are in the KC Metro area this week, I would encourage you to come by and have a look at the school. What day were you looking to visit?

Cool, so it sounds like you guys don't need an MEI on board anymore for you multi time-building flights? Did you guys change your insurance policy after all? And that's pretty dedicated of you, Patrick! I don't know of too many schools where the marketing guy will go out on flights where he can't legally log the time and can't be paid for it - all just to cover the insurance. Looks like you are really looking out for the customer.

Good for you guys! Do the students get a price cut now that they don't need an MEI on board? (The only reason I ask is because I do get the random PM/ email from people asking for recommendations - I usually give them Triangle in FL, White Air, and you guys.)
