I plan to go and visit CPS on Jan 19. Does anybody have any suggestions on hotels. I've never been to Kansas so maybe in an area where there is stuff to check out.

Stuff to check out + Kansas = ???? lol seriously, There are a few interesting places in KC Metro Area, but none really to close to the school location to be mentioning hotels. Just a short 15 min drive to most from the school. I would suggest looking for Hotels in the Olathe KS or Overland Park KS area... they are close enough to the school and close enough to various entertainment that it should work out for you. But thats if you are going to have a car here.. and I dont know if you are or not

If you have a car to use, I would suggest looking at the hotels at 119th and I-35. There is about everything you could need at that intersection and it's only about 10-15 minutes away from IXD.

IM going to have to agree with Jake on this one.. 119th area ( olathe KS ) has alot of hotels and is not all that far from the plaza or crown center ( about 15 mins for both) or the Legends Shopping center with the KS speedway and Cabelas outdoor world

First thought that popped in my head when I saw the thread title was "uh oh, somebody's being accused of abusing their kids!" Unfortunate byproduct of sharing initials with Child Protective Services...

Speaking of visits. Mike, that checkride got switched to OJC last minute yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to stop by and say hello. DPE Mike was great and really put my very nervous student at ease, and the oral and ride went smoothly. I'm sure I will get by there at some point in the coming days.

I would also recommend the hotels around I-35 and 119th St. There is a newer Hampton Inn that is very nice and reasonably priced. I live downtown, pretty close to Crown Center, though The Plaza is where its at as far as KC shopping goes. If you stay around 119th St, you'll be 10 min from the school, and 20 min from downtown- seems a pretty good compromise to me.
