| Newbie | I am currently attending CareerPilotSchool, and I think that it was a great choice. I am near the end of my private pilot training, completed in only one month. The owner, Mike Siegel, is a great guy that has bended over backwards to help me through my training. He has catered to my needs of wanting to be hired on with the airlines in the shortest amount of time. Mike has assembled a great team of instructors that have a huge amount of experience and truly care for their students’ success. I am currently training with Rob Pumford. I could not have asked for a better Private Pilot Instructor. Rob has been patient and has been willing to allow me to work through my "issues" and figure it out for myself. He is great for building your confidence, but also knows when to knock you down if you are messing up. Bottom line, I made a great choice when I decided to attend CareerPilotSchool, here in Olathe, KS. Wade Wilson |

| Senior Member | I wish I was a DPE! Talked to the FAA about it today. Fortunately, he is going to a good one out in Marshall, Missouri tomorrow.

| Senior Member | He's making great strides. He just left the office on a SE time building flight. I think he is close to 90 hours now in 1.5 months (he is a self-paced student).

Career Pilot School is a great school. I have gone from Private to Commercial and now working on my CFII. Great instruction and aircraft. you get a more personal experience here then with other schools that are mainly Pilot mills. This school is more interested in producing quality pilots... not just turning them out. Im happy of my pick to go here. |

Wade, Did you visit there first? If so, what kind of experience was the visit?

I do hope to see you soon here at CPS. I am not in the office too much, because I am either flying or working. The freedom allowed here at CPS is unprecedented. I go to the office in the morning, pick up the logbook, keys and headset and go fly. I am spending a lot of time in the 152 these days, just building up my cross country time for my Instrument phase. Mike was correct, I am close to 90 hours now and loving every bit of it. Sure the 152 is slow and a bit ugly (Sorry Mike), but I have grown to really like it. Plus the 152 is the best time building option for the budget minded pilot. To answer your question about visiting other schools... I did not actually visit other schools but I was in contact with many. The schools that come to mind right now are Delta Flight Academy, ATD, Spartan, and a few others that don't come to mind. In all of the schools, I talked to the counselors and current students in various phases of their training. I didn't have to visit, because I had a pretty good idea of how the school was run. To be honest, I had my mind set on ATD. ATD required me to take an initial flight with an instructor locally, so that is how I found Mike and the Career Pilot School. Mike and I sat down and talked for about an hour and in that time I was convinced that CPS was the place for me. I think the personal attention and freedom of the self paced program is what sets CPS ahead of the rest. I hope that I answered your question. If you have any more, please feel free to ask. Wade

I would like to correct myself. When I was mentioning other schools, I said ATD, and I meant ATP. Woops!! ![]() Wade

| Junior Member | IM sure Mike will respond to your question soon, Im just a student whos been here for some time and have talked to mike. I know hes waiting for the FAA for pt 141. and thats all hes waiting on. So Im assuming it will be shortly, and we all know what that means... even better funding and usage of VA funds.

| Senior Member | We currently operate under Part 61 (while utilizing Part 141 Syllabi for our Private, Instrument, and Commercial Courses). Paperwork has been submitted to the FAA and it should be approved sometime this summer. All of the FSDO's around the nation are very busy ( ), so hopefully this will get done ASAP.Michael

| Old Skool | I got my private through a part 141 and my instrument through a part 61. If you guys get accepted for part 141, could I get my commercial license with only 190 hours? Will I have to do more work since I got my private and instrument through other schools? |
