Default Training Fleet

For those of you who are interested, here are the types of aircraft we utilize for aviation training and their typical use:

Cessna 152 (some time building)
Piper Warrior (Private Pilot)
Piper Archer (Instrument)
Piper Arrow (Commercial SEL)
Piper Twin Comanche (Multi Engine and Time Building)

Each aircraft except the 152 has a GPS. The Archer and Arrow have IFR Certified Garmin 430's and autopilots, and the Twin Comanche has an IFR Certified KLN-90B, as well as an autopilot.

Check out our site for more information!

350TT
50 Hours Multi
25 Hours Make and Model or 10 Hour Dual in the PA30

I pushed our insurance company as far as I could go on that one. The only other twin in the KC area (a Seminole) has insurance requirements of 500TT, 50ME, 25 M/M or 10 Hours Dual.

No Robertson. But it does have the Arapho Tail which helps with Vmc and provides much more control on engine outs. It also has every speed mod you could install on a PA30. Oh, it also has tip tanks. We are going to add a second PA30 in the next month or two.

Speed mods are always good.

Vmc is 80 on the Robertson. Only bad thing is trying a short field landing with it. It goes from float to drop like a rock instantly. About the only way to really grease a landing with them is to carry some power and shallow the approach angle. I wonder if the smaller nose wheel mod would help with the flat landings at all.

Oh and I just got struck by lightning.........DAMN!!!!! THAT WAS CLOSE!!

Get that small nose wheel STC. It makes a world of difference.

It is just starting to rain here at IXD. Looks like it has been a lot of red and yellow returns over CNU for a while.

Down at IDP right now. No real reason to be at work today with only PPL students.

I hear ya. I am working with a Commercial student today. We are going over all of the performance maneuvers.

Had to cancel the Private Pilot students today due to the wx and the Presidential TFR.
