...to get rid of other peoples jobs.
The place I work for was bought out last year by a company based in Minnesota. This company also has a production facility in Singapore. Slowly most of our production is being sent out there with all new equipment. Its tough to have our current operators get this all new equipment to troubleshoot, which they need badly to replace their 40 year old "magic boxes", just to have them and their jobs snatched away a few months later.
Its an interesting moral dilemma.
