Well yesterday I get called in to the Chief Pilot's office and find out that one of the owners has decided to stop having us manage his plane. Apparently since we were now overstaffed, the CEO told him to lay me off. Makes me wonder what goes on in dude's head since the company now had 2 Lears instead of 3, and to crew them they have 3 Captains and 2 FOs.

The good thing: the chief was pissed at the situation and he got me an interview with another charter company on the field, and 2 hours later I had a new job! This definatly goes to show how having an endorsement from the right person can mean a hell of a lot more than flight time, as I doubt I would have been able to get on there just by myself since I'm still shy of 2000 hours total time.

Just wanted to say thanks for the info on New Mexico Airlines. I was hours away from buying a round trip ticket to disappointment until I read your thread about them. You just saved me $300. They tell you nothing until the interview! I had those red flags before I even interviewed and was about to gamble against them. I'm unemployed at the moment and getting disparate.

No problem man! Believe me I know how the unemployed state sucks, it's easy to get sucked into a bad position when the bills start comming in.

Interesting side note: One of my coworkers used to work for New Mexico's parent company, Pacific Wings. Basically very few pilots (PIC or SIC) work there longer than 6 months.
