Well, with my 2nd week of Basics firmly in the books, I figured I should somewhat update this blog. I've actually moved on to a blogspot blog, as I like the features and such. I begin my Tracon Basics class on August 18th. Yup, 5 days from today. At first, I was in shock, because of all the things that I knew would need to be done. However, now that things have settled for a bit, I'm a bit more calm.

Well, I'm settled in my new interim job at Lowe's while I wait for my FOL. This store is quite a bit different than my last one. While the general knowledge of my department and corporate policy is still relevant, the environment at this store is way different. Not in a bad way, but I'm just not as comfortable here, yet. That's too be expected, I suppose.

Nothing new on the ATC front. I did e-mail my HR rep to update my address with him, but got the 'out of office' autoreply e-mail....

Our move is more or less complete. We unloaded our trailer full of our worldly possessions, and sorted them into a 'Garage Sale' pile and a 'Taking to Alaska' pile. Needless to say, we have quite a few things in the Alaska pile that will be moving to the Garage Sale one. We're not planning on taking much. We'll just replace a lot of things when we get up there.

My wife's job ended a few weeks ago, and with our plans to have her live with her parents while I go to OKC for training, we're moving up to her parents house. I currently work for Lowe's Home Improvement here in Logan, and I'm transferring up to a store near where my in-laws live. I'll be working there while I wait for my FOL. Not the most ideal situation, as I'd rather be starting at OKC soon, but it'll help us pay off some bills before I get there.
