Default Seasonal affective disorder

So here I am, I have told very few people I have Seasonal affective disorder. I was told I have it about 6 years ago, and I am in college for my fifth year and have never said anything to the school. How would it affect me if I told my Chief flight instructor and my school? Would it keep me from possible jobs in the future? How about an AME?(main reason I am posting it here) What would happen to me? Flying is the one and only thing that makes me happy and that is that. This year has been the worst sense high school days and I don't know what to do. College has been tough on me more so going into my fifth year. I have always found someway to help myself, and right now, the possibility of not getting a job and then bills I have brought onto myself have screwed me. Like I have said, Flying has always helped but the idea of not flying scares the out of me and that I will only fall into this depression deeper. What would you do? I have seen a psychiatrist and he was the one that told me what I had. He also told me to see my normal doctor and she said the same things. I know depression can end a flying carrier but what else can I do

I suffered from a pretty bad case of that when I moved up to Columbus, Ohio from Texas. Wish I could give you some advice, but I imagine you can't pick up and move to Florida like I did. But hang in there - I think sometimes you just have to become a "yes" man. When someone asks you to hang out or do something, just say yes, even if you don't feel like it. That helped me feel a bit happier. Oh, also try to get laid

In all seriousness, hang in there man!

There things that can help with this. Special lights, or something.

Fake bake tanning helps, in very low doses, actually. Kinda worked for me when I lived in Washington State. I wasn't as bad off as you, but I'd get to missing the sun. ... and I look like a reject from Twilight when I don't see the sun for too long.

Moving to Florida worked well for me.

Now that I think of it, I'm always grouchy when daylight savings ends.

As long as it does not require medications (these are DQ) I would not worry about it. Try a tanning bed. I got out of South Dakota to get away from the winter doldrums. Move south as soon as you graduate is the best thing to do.
