Here's the situation: In regard to my name, I'm a third (III), but my medical doesn't include the suffix "III." However, on my written exam it was included (i.e. John Doe III). Is this discrepancy going to cause problems when I take my checkride in the next week or so? In going back over my medical records (my medical had to be deferred) some of the items requested by the FAA were listed as without the suffix, while the actual application for medical DOES have the suffix. I'm not sure if this was intentional on their part, or simply an oversight on the part of my AME due to him filing electronically. Others who have I have little reason to believe that they know what they're talking about seem to think it won't be an issue, but ultimately I would like me to be ME on paper Last edited by BaronPete; October 28th, 2009 at 20:47. |

Hey Doc, Is there anyway I can speed this "process" along? Here's what's going on: Upon you telling me to contact the Regional FSO in Atlanta a few weeks ago, I called and talked spoke to an older lady. I explained the situation of me needing "III" added to my name and she said no problem and that she'd take care of it right away, as well as assuring me I'd receive my new student certificate/medical "in a few days." 1 week later, I still hadn't received the med/student cert, so I called back. A different lady told me that the previous employee completed the changes, but failed to place the corrected medical in the doctor's inbox for his signature of approval. She then assured me she would take care of it and I would again receive the medical "in a few days." An additional 10 days later here I am with no medical and have had to cancel my checkride twice. I've been cordial and polite, but is there anything I can do to get this seemingly trivial task accomplished???!!! It has been nearly three weeks.. |

The FAA does not move quickly. Call one more time to see where it is. Once the document is signed, it goes to the mail room which takes a couple of days. The processes are not fast. Wait till your healthcare is run by the government |

I called today and found out it was mailed out on the 16th. So good news there! As for government run healthcare, I truly am terrified...Here I am in my early 20s and all I want is my own little slice of American pie. I won't get it, though. | |
