Red face OTS??

Ok I'm very sure I know the answer to this but the slight doubt in my mind forces me to ask:

OTS stands for Officer Training School right??
(not off the Street)

I went the CTI route so I'm not sure.

BTW, what happened to ACTCTI?? "Ask A Controller" seems to have been taken over by those of us wanting to become controllers.

THANKS!

As far as this forum goes, OTS does refer to "Off-The-Street." Mostly it's talking about the many job announcements the FAA is opening for candidates with no experience.

Question 2.

Can I apply for the "OTS" job postings as a CTI grad?

Question 2.1.

I am already on the referral list, will reapplying help or hurt or do nothing. I want to add more states to my application(s) to increase/speed-up my chances of getting hired.

I don't think OTS applicants can apply for CTI announcements.

Yeah this raises another point I'm stuck on. Once someone applies, from any source, do the applications all go into the same referral list or do those who already put in years of ATC schooling get priority?

I just found this and answered my own question. Thanks John.

So boys, and Girls. All of us that are OTS Applicants, we should take pleasure in knowing that we are the scavengers of the FAA, sucking up any job scraps that happen to fall our way.

After you're hired, it'll start meaning "out of service", usually in reference to a piece of equipment that's broke... often one that would be really handy to have working.

I do want to make sure you fully understand the difference. as a CTI, yes, you can apply under an OTS announcement. but if you, as a CTI ,apply under a OTS announcement, you are no longer differentiated as a CTI graduate and you are now on a even playig field with all the OTS applicants. so the only way to get the advantage of the CTI Recommendation is to apply under a CTI Announcement.
