Default Suspension?

I heard/read that a current ATC instructor at the academy was suspended a couple of days ago for his "blog entries" seen here:

Sucks for him, wish him the best.

And Dave is (or was) just a contract employee.

Imagine what the FFA will try to do to you, as one of their own, if you dare to speak your mind... especially if it's the ugly truth.

You might also want to consider hiding any books you don't want burned.

Not for anything but this comes with the territory... who in their right mind can constantly bash their employer and expect everything to sit well. We all have choices to make and as in most situations if you don't like something, sure you can voice your opinion but there is a time and a place for everything

Bill of Rights

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

And no law was broken, nobody was arrested. But if I'm an employer (OU), and one of my employees is bad-mouthing me and my customers (the FAA) in public, I'm going to terminate that employee. I have every right to do that, under the law.

If he now wants to bad-mouth OU, the FAA, you or me, he can do that to his heart's content, and he won't be arrested. And he can find someone else to pay him while he does that.

I know I put up with a lot of BS being a contract ATC overseas, but I am glad that I did not take that FAA offer right now. I think that I would probably end up like him.

I am enjoying my tax free - getting out of debt income.

Not to be rude, but the key words of this Amendment are "CONGRESS shall make no LAW". Our culture today enjoys mis-quoting the 1st amendment and conforming it to whatever interpretation they want it to mean.

If someone wants to bad mouth their employer, they have the liberty to do that, there's no LAW against it. However, the employer has just as much "free speech" to say "seeya later pal", and it does not matter who that employer is. Let's review: Amendment 1 is talking about CONGRESS (i.e. not schools, post office, or any other gov't agency) passing LAWS.

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

Glad you did, otherwise I'd have done it for you.

Wonder if the blogger has been reinstated, maybe with a slap on the wrist? I hope so.
