| PEPC Experience I just completed the Fort Worth, TX PEPC on 4/28/08
Everyone was very nice, and it took pretty much all day. I got my tentative offer letter and they even gave us tentative class dates. I am slated for 5/12/08, and HR said to make sure I call them if my firm offer isn't here in 3 weeks. I don't foresee any snags as I just faxed them some paperwork regarding an old debt that I have settled last year. We all met our actual new bosses and I am going to Seattle Center. Although I really don't want to leave Colorado I'll be happy since I'm still on the West Coast. |

| Re: PEPC Experience I also attended the DFW PEPC on 4/28. The experience was great, everything went smoothly except for the medical part which was off campus so was understandable.
I'm sure we'll run into each other in OKC. They're working on expediting my background investigation so I can also join the class starting on 5/12 and then bound for Seattle Center =D |

| Re: PEPC Experience Congrats for those of you who attended the Dallas PEPC so far. I hope you will be able to join us in the May 12 class. It would be nice to have fellow West Coasters in there.

| Re: PEPC Experience I also attended the 4/28 PEPC and I thought it was a relatively pain free experience. Of course my security and fingerprints were already complete because of my previous work experience so it made things a lot faster for me. I do have to go to an eye doctor and have them check my eyes out because of an eye problem I had in my past. But barring anything really weird I will be in OKC on 5/29. My basic time frame of things was, July 07 I applied, took the ATSAT on March 10th, about three weeks later I was added to a referal list, and about a week and a half ago I was scheduled for this PEPC. But, the lady who interviewed me, she was from SLC Center I believe, she said they were mandated to hire about 200 people a month.... |

Do you know what her position was in the center (e.g. ATM, Supervisor, etc.)? Was she pleasant? Also, congrats on completing the PEPC.

| Re: PEPC Experience You know I honestly can't remember what her title was. But she was very nice. The interview is about the easiest part of the day to be honest. |

| Re: PEPC Experience May 1 New ATO Technical Operations hires are getting on the job sooner thanks to an initiative that has already been successfully used to speed up controller hiring.
Forty candidates for airway transportation systems specialist positions within Tech Ops walked away with tentative offer letters after attending recent one-stop Pre-Employment Processing Centers (PEPCs) in Miami and Atlanta.
The Miami PEPC (pronounced like the soft drink) was the third held this fiscal year and the first to include Tech Ops candidates.
By the time of the Miami PEPC, candidates were calling us because they knew they could complete their processing in five to six hours, explained Pat Spatarella, ATO PEPC program lead.
So far, the four PEPCs held this year in New York, Jacksonville, Miami and Atlanta have processed a total of 350 air traffic control specialist candidates, in addition to the 40 Tech Ops candidates. By combining interviews and pre-employment processing requirements, PEPCs cut down to a few hours a process that normally takes several months.
Spatarella said the success of the week-long PEPCs relies heavily on the participation of facility managers from around the country who come in to conduct the interviews over a one- to two-day period. More than 100 managers have been on site at the four PEPCs.
We have a lot of people doing a lot of work, said Spatarella, and all participants interviewers and Aerospace Medicine, Security, Human Resources, Acquisition, Terminal, En Route and Tech Ops staff are as excited as we are. They see the process as a meaningful one in supporting the agency's goals. They see the great attitudes of the candidates.
This week, 71 Terminal, 85 En Route and 31 Tech Ops candidates are expected at a PEPC in Fort Worth, Texas. Thirty managers are on hand to interview.
The next PEPCs will take place in Chicago during the week of May 19 and Los Angeles the week of June 16, with additional PEPCs to be held through the end of the fiscal year. |

| Re: PEPC Experience Also attended the PEPC in Ft. Worth on the 28th. They gave me a tentative school start of July 11th. I am still waiting to get my final offer but am pretty positive. Should not be anything in my background check. My ASAP application close middle of June last year. I got a response that I would be tested and then took the test in December. Recived a couple of offers and I picked the enroute option. Finally recieved an official appointment for the Ft. Worth PEPC in early April. Sorry I don't have exact dates for all that, but basically it looks like the whole process just takes a while. |

| Re: PEPC Experience I'm attending PEPC at Chicago on 5/19. I was wondering if my background check will be processed faster since I've been working at the airport for the past 6 years?.
Is it possible to tell the interviewer when (example: after summer?) I want to start the OKC class? |

| Re: PEPC Experience Rollndollars, It's definately possible. The last step of the PEPC is a follow up with a HR rep and he/she will ask you when can you start. |
