What personal information is needed for the hiring process?

Hey everyone! Just was wondering about something... I've heard that at some point in the application process you have to have basically your full personal background information, such as every address you have ever worked at, and every employer you have worked at in the past 10 years. Is this true? I ask because I've had more jobs than I can remember... I'm 26 right now, and a 10 year job history would be basically every job I have ever worked at!!! I know what addresses I've lived at, but I'd have no way of going back and figuring out where I worked, and the dates I worked there. Anyone got any information on this?

I've already done my application, and taken my AT-SAT (got a 98.2 *WOOT!!*), so now I'm just waiting for the interview part... and hopefully it happens soon!!! I can't wait to get into a stable career, nor can my fiance!

Yeah, the form is called an SF-86 and does ask you all that information that can be hard to remember. But it is the gov's standard long background form. I should know I've filled it out more than once.

I think they only ask for 7 years address and work history.

It's a good idea to go ahead and fill that out now. I've already filled mine out and haven't even had my interview yet. 17 addresses in 7 years....ya...that was fun.

So how the heck would I go about figuring out where I worked and when I worked there....? Anyone got any advice on that?

If you know all of your previous employer's, you can call and ask them to look up when you worked for them. If you don't know who has employed you...well...good luck with that.

I had to call 2 different places to get what the dates I was employed were and who my supervisor was. Took some time, but it will be well worth it later when my security clearance doesn't get held up for something

Is there is specific clearance the FAA is clearing ATC's for? Or is the SF-86 just 'Standard Form' required for any kind of background check?

I'm currently in process for my Top Secret clearance so I'm hoping that will speed up the FAA process -- that is if I even get that far!

I was down at the PEPC in Ft. Worth on Monday and I spent all weekend filling that thing out. When it got time to do the security part where we put everything on the computer I found it mine was already done because I had worked at an international airport for 7 years. So they just gave the whole packet back to me, thank God too because I had a few holes of things I couldn't remember.

I would be curious to know what clearance this is for? Talk about a pain in the ass though. I had back to two months within 7 years for my housing and it wouldn't take it. Fine. I put where I grew up. They got back to 1983!
