The Next Public Announcement

Hi, I'm new here as a member, but have been browsing the site for a long time. I really want to go start a career as an ATC, but wasn't sure if there is any set time when these announcements go out. I signed up with ASAP and filled everything out, but there were no trainee positions available. For anyone with any kind of answer, thanks for your help.

I was told, at the Miami PEPC (the day that I interviewed), that it's going to be quite awhile before another public announcement goes up. Apparently they received a lot of applications, during the last public announcement (February), which they need to sort through, first.

Supposed to be a new general public announcement coming out in April.

Where'd you get that info from, Acey? April's half over and they haven't even dealt with the Feb applicants yet. What's your source?

The only "new" public announcement I have seen is for CTI graduates ONLY....located on the FAA website....

Is that the one you are referencing?

I talked with someone in OKC on April 11 and she said to look out for a OTS announcement possibly as early as Monday or Tuesday 4/14-4/15. However, I talked to them earlier in March and at that time they said there would be one coming out very soon and that was weeks ago. So, who really knows? As far as being so close to the Feb announcement, apparently NATCA and others critical of the FAA have mentioned that there are not enough people in the pipeline to offset the shortage of controllers.

No that one closes very soon. I was told of a new announcement. Just keep an eye out I guess.

Wow you would think that they would look at the current applications before getting a whole new lot of applications. Geez they have the time for this but dont have the time to interview us or people who are still waiting from last year haha

We have such good examples to follow here. Is this what we can expect to hear from coworkers on the job 24/7?
