And I'm only a member in an associate capacity since I have no drive honestly to even bother to use my CTI education. . .BUT. . .

I don't think it'd be too bad of an idea to offer new FAA members a year without dues extraction.

ALPA does this. The first year, is due free. But once you hit first year - it's 1.95% a month.

Which, I'm thankful for. Provides me the ability to use to the union's services, and still pay my bills.

Just an idea, which I know NATCA has thrown around a couple times already.

This is some more rocket science decision making from you current/future employer. They have decided to, not do routine maintenance on equipment, rather "Fix on fail" after is has failed. This is the thought process of your employer.
Taken from http://www.faafollies.com/

“Fix on fail”…
Imagine taking your car on a road trip across the desert. It’s a 1000 mile trip, yet you don’t check your oil, fluids, or tires before you go. You just get in and go.
As you drive, the oil light comes on. You keep going. Then the ‘check engine’ light illuminates. You keep going. Then your tires go flat. The rims will work just fine. Your engine overheats. You keep plugging along with clouds pouring out of your radiator. Your fuel runs low. Engine’s still running, so why quit? Battery light comes on. Hey, that’s what alternators are for!
Along the way, you’ve passed gas station after gas station. Tires, fuel, oil, water - it’s all there. But hey, the car hadn’t quit yet, right? There was no need to stop and waste time. Besides, all that stuff costs money! From the cost and effort standpoint, running the car into ground makes all the sense in the world! Just throw caution to the wind and bet on the come.
As you cheerfully rattled across the desert in your disintegrating car, other motorists have offered to give you a hand or at least point out the issues your car is having. “Hey, you’ve got a flat!” or “Dude, you’ve got a cloud of smoke pouring out your pipe.” or “Buddy, do you need a tow?”. No, no, everything’s fine and wonderful. No, no, I don’t need you to call an on-the-go mechanic. No, no, please stop telling me the same thing over and over and over.
Even the cop who pulled you over and issued you a ticket for driving an “unsafe vehicle” was no deterrent. Or the four other cops after that. You’ve got a glovebox full of tickets and warnings from “the law” telling you what’s wrong and what you need to fix, but it makes no difference in your mind. They’re just delaying your journey, even as your engine RPM grinds down slower and slower.
And you, the helpful expert mechanic who offered some help and suggestions, what do you know about cars? You’re just - can’t stop laughing - a mechanic! You never went through college! Moron! I’ve never lifted a hood in my life and I can tell you exactly how my car works and how to tune it up. What do you know? Stupid grease monkey….
Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, your car dies completely. Your forward-thinking well-prepared ass has no food or water, a dead cell phone that can’t be charged off a non-starting battery-less car, and nothing but desert around you and vultures above you.
You took the risk and where did it get you? Broken down, alone, being eyed by hungry vultures, with no one to call for help.
Welcome to the FAA. I hope we get where we’re going before this engine grinds to a halt… only to get kicked into gear via the explosive energy of a mid-air collision.

Hope to see you before you retire, queeno! And we aren't trying to be managers/supes.

Oh, and it's better than Wendy's...if it were Taco Bell, we may reconsider!
