| Re: ATSAT Scores I did the same thing - jumped every time I crashed. I was at the very end by the front door, with no one to my left, and everyone else behind me. But the guy immediately to my right looked over at me a few times.

I only jumped once because I had no idea a plane was in danger of crashing. The sound effect was so much louder than the pilots, and the room was so quiet. It caught me completly off guard!

I thought about using fancy approach patterns, but figured they weren't looking for something like that in this test. If I had it to do over, I would have used them.
Let's hope I didn't hurt myself too badly. Like I said, I felt confident about the dials, math, and angles. Not too sure how I fared on the scan test and analogies, but don't feel like I tanked them. | Hey I recently took the test in Atlanta and felt the same way as you did; math, dials, and angles went pretty smooth for me. I had a mixed feeling about the scenarios though...I crashed 1-2 planes and had many separation errors...I thought I was doing OK till I saw my efficiency scores: 45-66 % Ouch!
The letter factory was smooth except for the questions which I mostly guessed on. Analogies were weird so I didn't even know how to feel about them after it was over. I saw that you got a 100 on the test, so I am anxious to find out my scores...Reading your insight was certainly helpful, thanks! |

Well, I thought it was funny. Also, someone in the room had their volume up really loud and they had to of crashed 5 or 6 planes before one of the test admins went over and had her turn the volume down. |

I am going to have to sign up with another username...I hope y'all don't spam people as a hobby |

I did not see a save feature so I do not know if it took or not.

| Re: ATSAT Scores Took the ATSAT as an OTS on 3/15/08. Got an 87. Math, dials and angles went pretty smoothly but didn't do so hot on the scenarios though. Ya, wasn't expecting sound effects and turned up the headphone volume all the way.....brilliant move there.
On the ASAP page, it says they haven't made a referral list yet. Is that normal? |

| Re: ATSAT Scores received my score on 3/21, got a 91.5
I'm taking this semester off school to get my pilot's license. I have 3 semesters left for an Econ degree at UC Berkeley. The deadline to register for Fall is coming up quick! Any suggestions on what I should do?
Career more important? or degree important?
BTW, I've already got a decent job (unionized train conductor), so I'd take a severe pay-cut to work for the FAA

Degree?--Depends if you want to rack up more debt. .
Career?--Depends on if you get hired. Do you want to take a pay cut? I imagine you will take a hit for the first few years, but once you get checked out, it should be worth it.
Just my thoughts.. |

Does anyone know how long you have to wait until taking the AT-SAT again? I talked to my aunt who works at ORD this morning, and she said my score was "disappointing" (82) . She thought I had to wait a year, but I thought I read it was 3 years? She is going to talk to some of the supervisors at her tower and see what my chances are with that score and no aviation experience....

| Re: ATSAT Scores This is from the FAA website: Can I retake the pre-employment test if I want to improve my score?
Yes. No matter what your score, you may retake the test one year after the first time you took the test. Your second test score will always replace your first score. How long is my pre-employment test score valid?
Pre-employment test scores are valid for three years.

I happened across it recently and found it again mostly by chance. There's a lot of info floating around... and any one tidbit is very easy to overlook.
Hang in there and good luck with the process!
