| Michigan Position I got notice today that I have been selected to interview for a terminal position in Michigan. So much for trying to stay in Atlanta. I have been asked to confirm a position for the PEPC they are having in Atlanta April 7th, 8th, 9th. Did anyone else get this today? |

| Re: Michigan Position Nada. I was on the referral list as well, but did not get a interview offer. I will consider it blessing so that Utah may have a chance at me.
You can always deny, but who the hell knows when ATL will send out interview offers.
Are you going to accept?

| Re: Michigan Position Yeah I'm going to accept because OKC told me I missed the cut for ATL because I was on the interview list for Michigan. She said you can only be placed on one interview list and then you are flagged not to be considered for any other position. If I decline now I'll still have to end up moving so I might as well go with what I have got. Not to mention my dad has been calling a few places in MI and a lot of the terminals up there have the ability to get you fully certified within about a year. Then I can move after a year as a CPC. |

| Re: Michigan Position Thanks I am trying. My wife and her family are kind of disappointed about us moving but they understand I have to do what I have to do. My family live all over so I do not really have any major things keeping me here.
The breakdown of the cities I choose and the order are:
1) Grand Rapids
2) Yipsilanti
3) Kalamazoo
4) Muskegon
5) Traverse City
6) Lansing
7) Pontiac
8) Saginaw
9) Ann Arbor
10) Flint
11) D21
12) DTW
My dad knows the ATM at Yipsilanti pretty well and he told him I would get checked out and certified in under a year if I came to his facility. I just wish they would tell me where.
Beehive I really hope you can get Utah just make sure you are not on an interview list already because UT meets this week coming up. GOOD LUCK |

| Re: Michigan Position I got an email that reads as follows:
Congratulations. You have been chosen for further consideration for an Air Traffic Control Specialist (ATCS) position at a terminal in Michigan. We are inviting you to come to an ATCS Pre-Employment Processing Center (PEPC) which will be held at the North Georgia Tracon in Peachtree City, Georgia, on April 8th, 9th or 10th, 2008. This is a new expedited method of processing and will include your interview, a security screening, medical evaluation, psychological evaluation, and drug testing. In addition, if you are tentatively selected, you will receive a Tentative Offer Letter providing specific information on your facility assignment, salary, etc. All of these activities will take place during the day of your appointment, starting at 7:30 am. Please be prepared for an all-day event. You will need to make advanced arrangements should you require overnight lodging. All travel costs incurred will be at your expense. We will provide detailed information including forms that must be completed prior to your arrival once you have confirmed that you will attend. This is what you need to do: · Please respond to this email or call Terri Owens at 405-798-2026 between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM Central Standard Time. · Tell us if you are going to be able to attend and, if so, which day you prefer: April 8th, 9th or 10th, 2008. · Respond as quickly as you can but no later than March 7th, 2008. · Check the contact information above and provide any corrections. Thanks! We hope you can attend and look forward to meeting and assisting you in Georgia.
I hope this helps. |

| Re: Michigan Position Very much so. I have this huge problem cause at the time I applied, I was using a roadrunner email account that is no longer valid. So it sucks that they are doing everything through e-mail. I have to continuously be calling and checking in on things.
Did the notice on your application in ASAP change at all? Saying that you were selected for an interview? Or does it still say you have been referred and may or may not be contacted about an interview? |

| Re: Michigan Position My ASAP did not change. I changed emails from when I applied to what I updated in ASAP too and I have been getting emails to my new email address. So go into the ASAP system and update your new email and they will start sending email to that even though it will not change on your application submissions. |

| Re: Michigan Position I did do that. But for the Michigan position I never recieved the email with all the stuff to fill out and fax in. I had to call and have them send it to the right e-mail. So I am just alittle worried about it. |

| Re: Michigan Position You are the only one I know that picked Detroit Metro first and i'm sure they are hurting for controllers so you should have a good chance. I wrote "No" on both Detroit Tower and TRACON. Thats probably why I didn't get an interview offer!
Are you from Michigan flyeagle111?

| Re: Michigan Position Beehive, sorry for the confusion but i haven't chosen anything yet. I'm from Illinois and will probably put Illinois and Michigan as my two states. Just curious how the selection goes. So you put the ranking of the facilities in the state and can say no to any of them if i understand correctly? |

| Re: Michigan Position If I understand correctly, Flyeagle - you applied for the nationwide announcement and are asking if you can list individual facilities rather than entire states when they ask you for your preferences right?
That's my question too - when the time comes for me to list my geographic preferences, can I select specific facilities within states, or must I always select the entire state. |

The nationwide hiring method is a new adeventure itself let alone the whole general public method. From what I understand the FAA has not hired OTS since early 80's and I don't think they have paid much attention to how they should organize the process to make it easier on themselves and the OTS applicants since that time.
