We are so short staffed, FAA wide, they are doing anything to gets warm bodies in the door. It is bad enough that more than 50% of the CTI's have washed out, I can't wait to see the washout rate when they ram them through like cattle.

the FAA can hire all the trainees they want but if you dont have enought controllers to be able to train them than big deal, the FAA is so behind the power curve . just ask the folk at Miami Center about sitting around for over a year just to start training.409 days

“The FAA put out a job announcement just last month that attracted 3,000 applicants in 15 days. The overwhelming response for new air traffic controller positions highlights the enthusiasm, passion and determination of our applicants,” said Bobby Sturgell, the FAA’s acting administrator. “They are ready to work and we want to get them processed and in training as soon as possible.”

3,000 New applicants? The FAA sent me the job announcement e-mail for every application I have filled out since 6/07 which is 32. By the time I received the announcement I had passed the ATSAT and been on two referrals. I did "re-apply" but i'm sure Bobby marked me down has a new applicant.
Anything to look good in front of Congress huh Bobby!

I have been selected to do this PEPC thing. I don't have a date yet, but I will be getting a call and when I asked for an approximate date I was told maybe mid-march. I will be doing the one in Ft. Worth.

I have been getting emails with attached documents for me to fill out and then either fax or email back. I believe I have given them all the information they need and as soon as I get a date I will be sure to post that here. And I believe I heard that the PEPC is going to be done in Florida..maybe Miami before they do the one in Ft. Worth or very close to each other. That is what I think I remember hearing so don't quote me on it.
