| Re: Iowa Atc Positions I'm curious - when they were hiring for individual states last summer, were they taking applications for EVERY state, or just certain ones? I would really like to stay here in Oklahoma if possible, but I'm not feeling confident with the Nationwide announcement that just closed. If I could apply specifically to Oklahoma this summer, that'd be awesome. |

| Re: Iowa Atc Positions They were taking applications for most states last summer. I sent out to 32, OK was one and I have been referred to 10.
In the naitonwide app it read geographical preferences will be dealt with later in the process.
I think this is the new way they will be doing off the street hiring. But i'm sure you will have a fair chance at OK.

| Re: Iowa Atc Positions I was told one month ago that I was guarunteed an interview at some point. But I am still waiting for that interview date. I am worried that I fell through the cracks. Has anyone gotten their interview date yet for Iowa? |

| Re: Iowa Atc Positions Yah, I'm going to the PEPC on March 20th, and will be interviewing for Iowa. OKC couldn't tell me the specific facilitity that I will be going to, because they said that it is subject to change, based upon the interview. |

| Re: Iowa Atc Positions At this point, I'm kinda up in the air about this. I got the same "You've been selected for an interview" email this time last month and NOBODY in OKC can give me anything except for an attitude.
Still holding out hope for either ATL of FLA...... |

| Re: Iowa Atc Positions If I were you, I would call Claudia at 405-798-2002, and request to be directly put on a specific PEPC list. As soon as I got the email, I called OKC, and informed them that I would like to be put on the PEPC for Miami, and within a couple of days I had been added to the list. Teri Owens, Zoe ?, and Claudia ?, are the ones who directly deal with the PEPC's, thus it's quicker and more efficient to directly go to the source. I had never gotten anywhere by speaking with any of the operators who answered the standard OKC telephone number. |

I'm hoping for ATL too, so I'm kind of glad you haven't heard anything yet either, it makes me feel like I still have a shot and that I haven't been skipped over! |

| Re: Iowa Atc Positions Call OKC and see if you are on the ATL interview list. I have been told by two different people that I am on the list, but I still have not gotten an email. The last person I spoke with said they are setting up FL then they will be moving to ATL. But that was two weeks ago. |

Atlanta is pretty far from me! |

| Re: Iowa Atc Positions Who all is interviewing for Iowa on this forum? I'm interviewing for it, on 03/20, but have received no info on the specific facility that I'm interviewing for, within Iowa. I am really hoping for Des Moines, simply because the railroad runs through their, and pays pretty well, thus it would be an ideal job for my husband. Also, does anyone know of a website with some descent rental houses on it, for the Des Moines area (I'm trying to be proactive). We own our home in Florida, which we're going to need to rent out, thus am looking for something that is $1000 or under, as far as rent goes, until our home is paid down enough to sell. I don't know the area at all, and the only time that I have been there, was to take the AT-SAT test, back in January. Any local advice about housing, jobs, and so forth would be greatly appreciated. I realize that I haven't been offered the job yet, and may not be going to Des Moines, but I would like to get a handle on things, just in case. Thanks in advance!!! |

Okay. I'm trying to do anything to get this thing to swing in my favor a little bit. Does the ATC select by last names once you are on the referral list or is it just a random selection or do they take the best from the entire list? |

From what I can gather you get a cummulative score for your application. They take into consideration you AT-SAT score, your education, your work history, military background, and some other things. They give each application a composite score and that is what they use to determine who gets selected. |

| Re: Iowa Atc Positions I got an email saying I'm being considered for an interview for a terminal position in Iowa.
Here's the thing:
I applied to a bunch of other locations that I got referrals for...places I'd REALLY rather be. I also applied (just because) to the new national listing. I'm tempted to decline the whole Iowa thing and wait it out, but if I do that, I run the risk of not getting picked up.There's also a slim chance of getting scooped up elsewhere. OKC told me you can decline up to 3 times before they take you out the system. I'm 29 now so I have a little time, but really not much.
What would YOU guys do? |

What would YOU guys do? | Take what you can get and transfer after all this hiring stuff is calmed down. That's what I would do if it was me and I was 29. |
